Journeyman Smith Dana Hackney is a maker who continues to challenge himself and improve his craft. His sense of design is exceptional and only matched by his level of attention to detail. The blade of this beautiful bowie is forged to shape from Dana's twist pattern damascus. The damascus is a result of forging 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels in a tight, high contrast twist. The clip point blade is 8 inches long and distal tapered for a perfect balance. The handle is a beautifully colored stag, with gradual changes in texture, color, and swell from end to end. This offers a very attractive and comfortable handle, as well as a sure grip. The guard, spacer, and end cap are all made from matching twist pattern damascus. Copper spacers surround and highlight the damascus at the hilt. The knife is accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath with snakeskin inlay. Exceptional work throughout from a maker to watch!
